“I love what I do! I love the music, the musicians, the audience, I love it all! Music allows all of my personalities (and there are many lol) to flow freely. When I see the audience having a good time, enjoying the music, and the band is killing it, I feel like a floating vessel…giving and receiving. It’s a beautiful thing. For a few moments, only the music matters and we share a space together…we are one. I simply love it!!”
Words from Heaven Davis after a long time away from the stage accompanied by her own band. Coming off of a critically acclaimed CD in the early 2000’s, that boasted a Top 5 Billboard Single, Davis had high hopes to follow up with another CD right away. With ‘Steamy’ under her belt along with a couple of Beach Music hits and making the Blues Foundation’s Top 5 for Best Self-Produced CD, Davis quickly was making a name for herself. That was only boosted by a Blues Review article acclaiming her as the “Blues Voice of the Future”.
But life had other plans. “Life is not an inanimate object. It’s real, it’s not always fair and it has fists and feet!”, says Davis. “When my beloved husband Kevin passed away, I really didn’t want to go back to the stage. Kevin made me promise to get back to music so here I am.” After more than 10 years away from the stage with her own band, Davis returns with R.A.D. (Relics, Aliens, and Dinosaurs). “I have been very blessed to have worked with some of the finest musicians and it’s no different with R.A.D. I’m excited again!”, says Davis. Davis has toured nationally and internationally and has shared stages with Buddy Guy, Johnny Winters, Koko Taylor, and Delbert McClinton to name a few.
I’m really looking forward to actually sharing some music with you after several false starts. The musicians are amazing, the music is awesome and finally together, we’ll get it done. Look for us out there in music land. We’re coming to your town soon!
